The Minister for Health had admitted that the Intensive Care Unit, ICU, has a leaky roof.
Jean Paul Adam made the admission in the National Assembly last week.
He was answering a question without notice from the LDS elected MNA for Plaisance Clive Roucou.
Speaking to LSH, Roucou explained that last week he was notified that during the recent heavy rain, patients in ICU had to be moved around because water was coming down from the roof and into the unit.
He said he tabled the urgent question to bring attention to the issue and put pressure on the Ministry to do take action immediately.
Adam told the National Assembly that the problem had been identified since last year and in April they took a temporary measure to seal off the leaky areas.
He said this measure worked for a while only.
But lately the situation has deteriorated further and new leaky areas have been identified.
He has pledged that once the renovation of the Female Medical Ward is completed, the ICU service will be moved there, as a temporary measure.
