Seven journalists to write about Seychelles and its hotels
Seven journalists from different European countries are on an eight-day visit in Seychelles to learn more about the country and to write about it in their respective newspapers.
They met some key stakeholders in the tourism industry in an informal cocktail at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa this week where former President Sir James Mancham and the Minster for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange were among the invitees.
The journalists are on a visit to Seychelles after the public relations company working for Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa has organised the trip in order to give the Seychelles’ tourism industry exposure in European countries like Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
They were welcomed by both Sir Mancham and Minister St Ange who gave them a short summary of Seychelles. Sir Mancham took the opportunity to present the journalists with a copy of his newly launched book entitled SEYCHELLES – The saga of a small nation navigating the cross-currents of a big world.
The journalists have said they have had a chance to tour the island and stop at several touristic spots such as the Botanical Garden and the Tea Factory.
“I always thought that the Seychelles was like the Maldives but upon experiencing Seychelles, I found that the culture, the environment and its people make Seychelles different on its own,” said Lucy Partington from Cosmopolitan UK.
The journalists arrived in Seychelles last Friday and they will leave tomorrow.
