Golf - Duo of Leach and Coetsee a perfect combo
he partnership of Tom Leach and Juan Coetsee was too strong for the field as they came in with a solid 6 points (10 under par) to take a well-deserved first place in a Seychelles Golf Club-sponsored event. Played recently, the format was a Pairs Better Ball Medalford – medal on the first nine and Stableford on the back nine holes.
A total of 14 pairs took part in a surprisingly cool breezy day, a change to custom gruelling heat.
The partnership of Tom Leach and Juan Coetsee was too strong for the field, they came in with a solid 6 points (10 under par) to take a well-deserved first place, 2 shots further back were Zia Rizvi and Vishal Shah with 8 points in second place and a bunch of pairs were tied with 9 points, but club pro William Weidner and Nahim Agricole took third place on count back after a strong back 9 consisting of 23 Stableford points, ahead of the other pairs who finished on 9 points.
Nearest the pin went to Pascal Esparon.

The Seychelles Tourism Board will soon host its first ever golf tournament involving some 60 competitors who will battle for the top 10 spots, allowing them to compete at the MCB Championship Tour in December this year.
