Julien Parcou Mr. Parcou began his trade before the second World War as a baker in St Louis. He then got involved in the processing and export of cinnamon and patcoulli, before diversifying in a number of other products and services.

The older generations will remember that Julien Parcou was one of the first person to invest locally in public transport. The stationing of British soldiers on Mahé during the war offered him the opportunity of developing the business and engaging into the supply of general foodstuffs to the troops.

Mr. Parcou then established himself in Market Street where he was the largest trader in home appliances. He was also one of the first to offer ice-cream and cold drinks in the area.

Julien Parcou will be buried on Tuesday 28th, after a funeral service at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The service will begin at 2.30 in the afternoon.

Julien Parcou – A veteran of Seychellois business, passes away Empty Condolance to the Parcou Family in Seychelles and across the world

Post  Sirop14 Fri May 08, 2009 6:47 pm

On behalf of our Community - other relevant responsibilities, including interfaith responsibilities.
We wish to convey to his children and grand children our very sincere condolence, sympathy at the loss of their father, Grand father, Uncle.

Mr Julien Parcou was one of those Seychellois personality who had lend his wisdom and support, encouragement to what we have come to term the SIROP - CDU - SNM - DP, Alliance etc Exile Return program of 1987/88

In fact he watch us grow up and provided important peer role model as we grew up.

They - many say SIROP write to much sometime. The connotation, wording SIROP actually came from that family. Their lemonade shop, those very close relatives who knew of the "secret" {This is why we can and will never understand the many Exile officials, politicians and others - we had worded that exile program such so that the Seychelles government, FA Rene, the army those who know will understand and realize that was just a small step as children play simple games and their simple ideas - yet to come were more important issues and aspirations. Also a cold and stark reminder to everybody in Seychelles then they were children, they recall and still remember their sufferings as children. When you do terrible things to children - when they grow up and remember or have the power to execute judgment how terrible their action and reactions can be}

We are very grieved and saddened that we could not attend his funeral Service and by setting with the families.

It is Seychellois man like him who taught us to battle as children- we will en devour our uttermost to pass on what we have learnt.

Britain is a very strange country and those from the Parcou family who live or lived in Britain. We have made countless efforts to send appropriate condolence message to several personalities in Seychelles - Sechelles, the efforts they take that even one cannot do this properly.

Via our community forum trust and pray the condolence will be there for several years to be read and visited.

After we had the Son of the former owner of Printect pty LTD assist us with the editing and other work on our Sechelles - Seychelles EU community coat of Arms, we took it to a leading Shop belonging to the Jivan family our explanation, next to the former Parcou Family super market, business and home. Why we choose that shop. The efforts we took and explanation to the leading Seychelles government then Lawyer and coldly put it "given the gravity of this project he as a lawyer has got two options either to go home after work by the door or the window. We smiled and he said he preferred the door". Our insistence that President FA Rene go the first T Shirt we had printed for that Seychelles EU community coat of arms

Why that mega earth quake and Tsunami of 2004/5

We request and ask those who know our famalies relationship, friends and close relatives to take the time on our behalf and comfort the children even if they are very adults and very gorwn up.

Thank you
