We have made private comment regarding the above, those who had wished a comment on the three Chinese navy ship visiting Victoria past 3/4 days. The Chinese have their national politic, party politic on their elderly and managing their retirement after they have contributed such a great deal to the nation. Such was the case of that SIROP program when the above Group was created 1987. Safe they did not know they would be investing in Seychelles on such scale and the challenges.

With president F A Rene, we had visualise other partners, entity  in Europe, undertaking such large national/regional by Indian ocean standard and Dutch/Netherlands, what kind of quality retirement, old age concept did we visualise for that SIROP program. The Chinese have contributed to some very important aspects of that SIROP program, construction wise, again those,  President Rene had not foreseen. -  failing the Tunnel construction and to some degree this comment  which was also an item of the original SIROP program 1986/87.

In the SIROP larger development plan, it had been proposed that Port Glaud be part of that plan and to build a mix Town/city project - the idea was not to take the retired and lock them up  in some corner of the development island, fleece, abuse them.  but to create a life system very unique to Seychelles with all facilities,  in the process develop a long term retirement economic system. The models had existed when we concepted that SIROP program, in Monaco the model, on the Rivera, Spain, Andorra, South Africa and the Singapore, Malaysia

 We had envisaged the issues of environment - hence the taboo of the proposed reclamation not on the scale of Perseverance or Providence . For the future of the nation land availability, it would have required that a reclamation, in the process create a deep water basin for leisure boats etc, The venhem objection, that was the President Michel and the arrival of Bishop Wong in Seychelles.

What do we see and have, instead a development purely for tourism and some residential projects and small supporting facilities controlled by the French and Qatari/Emirati company, the environment issues - more important this development is purely for foreigners none Seychellois, those chalet dwellings are not adequate/geared/designed for the age  and retirement, At some state in the future a government with balls will have to relook at this topic. the new cost. Mrs Murray the investigating journalist ought to take the time and study/research. like everything Seychelles we are good only for the dirty work - even the terrible lack of  appreciation . come serious development we are not fitted , foreigners have to come into play. like the Ille Soleil project my strong advice to then president Rene - it required resolve, tenacity/boldness, this did not happen and hence the cack, the utter mess of the TRNUC restitution/compensation debacle not working, will create grave challenges.  By the then president François Mitterrand office,  government, we shared much of the SIROP program, the Dutch, Italians, Monegasque, the SA,  in Britain those who knew of what.  The current Emir,  his parents and how those argued  the money investment issues.  That Seychelles stock market to manage and contribute to this project,,

This also over president WAnkalawan answers to the Seychelles community in Greece, France and Britain. Those wishing to retire in their home country and living with their relatives in their old age. The president will become old and the archbishop too, those environmentalists too. .
