MCB launches cards campaigns

01-December-2016

The Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) Seychelles has launched its end of year cards campaigns, aimed at rewarding cardholders and partner establishments for their loyalty while encouraging the use of electronic payments channels.
MCB Seychelles will be conducting two promotional campaigns, which shall overlap over the next two months. The first one covers the period from December 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017 and rewards cardholders with entries into three lottery draws with exciting travel opportunities.
The second promotion runs from December 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 and provides attractive rewards to MCB cardholders in the form of discounts and special offers when they use their cards at specific partner establishments.
Every R200 spent through purchases on Point of Sales and online transactions effected with an MCB Visa Electron, Visa Classic or Visa Gold card settled through the Bank will give access to a draw covering a specific period of the campaign. A bonus ticket shall be given for any R200 purchase made at a MCB Seychelles partner establishment and five additional entries to the draw will be allocated for subscribing to a new MCB card. Depending on the date of the purchase, the entries provide a chance of winning a trip to either Mauritius, Abu Dhabi or Johannesburg with the draws to be held on December 20, 2016, January 5, 2017 and February 7, 2017 respectively. The prizes for Mauritius, Johannesburg or Abu Dhabi consist of all-inclusive airfares for two persons and pocket money of R10,000, R15,000 and R20,000 respectively per destination.
MCB Seychelles is partnering with 40 establishments to make special offers to Visa Electron, Visa Classic, Visa Business and Visa Gold cardholders. These offers shall be valid from December 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 and cover a diverse range of establishments for shopping, dining and wellbeing services. Clients will be informed of these partner establishments through a dedicated advertising campaign.

Finance Minister visits MCB

22-August-2017

The Minister for Finance, Trade and Economic Planning Dr Peter Larose yesterday visited the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB), Victoria which employs around 186 staff.
This forms part of his familiarisation visits to all financial institutions in the country.
The minister was warmly welcomed by the managing director of MCB Seychelles Bernard Jackson and his deputy Regis Bistoquet, the head of retail Lindy Monthy, among other MCB Seychelles staff.
During the visit Minister Larose was able to interact and discussed with employees from various departments such as the banking services, legal department, among others.
In an interview with the local media after the visit, Minister Larose stated that MCB Seychelles has achieved a very important milestone by delivering good quality services to the community in Seychelles.
“As the Minister for finance it is my responsibility to visit each financial institution in the country. MCB Seychelles employs majority Seychellois and is now a leading commercial bank in the country, offering a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of its valued customers. MCB Seychelles has already got an international standard bank and my vision is that all the banks in Seychelles also upgrade to international standard,” he said.
MCB Seychelles has a network of four branches on Mahé, two on Praslin and one on La Digue. In addition, the bank has invested in 17 ATMs located in different parts of the three islands, the latest ones recently installed at the Inter Island Quay and STC Hypermarket on Mahé.
Mr Jackson stated that the bank always tries to come up with innovative projects to offer its customers.
“Recently we have introduced the bank’s new Debit Card which was an ambitious and innovative project, offering our customers the latest chip technology protection with secure online card usage. We always try very hard to continue to innovate towards opening up new possibilities for our clients. Starting from next year we are planning to expand our branches,” he said.

Mauritius Commercial Bank Anse Royale branch expands
MCB now occupies the entire ground floor of a building a few metres away from its previous location, with four new tills, two ATM machines, and an office so residents in the South do not have to drive to Victoria for their banking queries and actions.

The bank has upgraded in size and service, adding three main tills and a fourth ‘bulk till’ for private cash rings and larger deposits.
Managing Director Bernard Jackson says the entire upgrade has cost them SCR10 million.
“We believe in the potential of Anse Royale and this is why we wanted to invest,” he explains.
The fourth private till in the bank is to allow transactions to flow faster, and so lines are not held up, he further notes.
“The best part is the office, so that people don’t have to drive all the way to Victoria and this saves them time, energy, and can minimize traffic,” he explains.
He stresses that the new branch has been built with enough capacity for the next ten years, and that the office now has enough space if they require a new desk.
Many new cameras have also been installed in every corner of the main floor, and generators so the bank can continue to run despite power outages. The ATMs also have safety deposits after hours.
“We find that we are able to not only replicate what we have in Mauritius but also to improve on it,” he explains.
Branch Manager Audrey Adrienne, who has been with MCB for the past ten years, will be in charge of the new branch. She began working in banking since she finished school and first started at their branch on Praslin before being transferred to Mahé.
The official opening on Wednesday afternoon, which consisted of a ribbon cutting ceremony, saw invited guests from the financial services sector, the National Assembly, and even branch executives from Mauritius.
