President Danny Faure has announced the appointment of Mrs Nichole Tirant-Ghérardi as the new Ombudsman following the recommendation of the Constitutional Appointments Authority (CAA) and in consultation with the Leader of the Opposition Hon Wavel Ramkalawan.
Mrs Nichole Tirant-Ghérardi is an experienced Seychellois Barrister and Attorney-at-Law, with a special interest in criminal defence and appeals, family law, employment law, and international trade issues.
She is currently the News Editor for TODAY Publishers and was previously the Secretary General of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) from 1999 to 2010.
Mrs Tirant-Ghérardi holds a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from the University of Liverpool in the U.K. She will be sworn in at State House on Thursday 30 March 2017.
