President Faure sends condolence message to Germany

President Danny Faure has expressed his condolences to the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Seychelles following the demise of the longest serving post-war Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Helmut Kohl.
In his message, President Faure described Mr Kohl as a towering figure of the contemporary European political landscape and a true statesman who not only oversaw German reunification but also paved the way for deeper European integration.
“The world mourns the loss of a statesman and the modern architect of peace, prosperity and the European project. He will be remembered as one of the greats of our time,” said President Faure in his message.
A towering postwar figure who reunified Germany after 45 years of Cold War antagonism, Mr Kohl propelled a deeply held vision of Europe’s integration and earned plaudits from Moscow and Washington for his deft handling of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
He died on Friday June 16, 2017 at his home in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the Rhine port city where he was born. He was 87.

We got to watch the first program from Strasbourg via RT TV  however cannot locate the thread it was posted on Facebook - we have listened to the many speeches and statements - at first got uptight meaning grave concern at the disparity, gaps of those who presented their views of former chancellor Kohl - this important event was played out in the building of the European parliament - not once was that SIROP program mentioned or hinted  and yet - what if we broke the rules and shock the world and publish other topic the world do not know - the importance and relevancy of that SIROP program it was  not Chancellor Kohl who concepted that program and managed it - it was my person and as such my responsibility in managing many events and aspect of then changing Europe, help advice those high personalities, their policies and politics  and help put in place individual who could managed these important development - yet what has been written as history - all of those present are accountable to the citizen of Europe and other institutions. We noted PM May and PM John Major, we did not see Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder Those who had promised to finance that SIROP program and those who got the money
