Seychelles was also assured of Germany’s understanding and support in the debt restructuring negotiations to begin early next year with the Paris Club.
Among the other issues discussed were tourism, fisheries – in particular the sustainability of fish stocks – piracy in the Indian Ocean, the tanker business, investment opportunities and food security.
The two men also spoke about the Economic Partnership Agreement talks, the challenges of being a Small Island Developing State, Germany’s contribution and involvement in the United Nations framework, as well as its contribution to the development of Seychelles through the European Development Fund and the EU’s Regional Indication Programme.
