Marcel Rosalie passes away | 16 December 2019
Mr Rosalie
Former Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles chief executive and culture director general Marcel Rosalie has passed away.
Born on La Digue on March 20, 1962, Mr Rosalie left this world on Saturday December 14, 2019 at the Seychelles Hospital.
A song writer and poet, Mr Rosalie was a champion and defender of the Seychellois Creole culture and heritage. He joined the culture department straight from the Seychelles College in 1980 and held the post of director general for culture for almost seven years until early 2016.
As director general for culture, Mr Rosalie also chaired the Museums Advisory Board and the National Monuments Board.
Upon leaving the department of culture, Mr Rosalie joined the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (Ceps) on March 1, 2016 and ended his employment with Ceps on October 31, 2017.
A calm and real gentleman, Mr Rosalie leaves behind his wife, daughter, brothers and sisters.
