15 members of the Caribbean Community are filing a lawsuit against Britain, France and the Netherlands for the lasting effects of the slave trade
Many of followed this debate on Al Jazerra 17.30 11/3/2014
We from the Sechelles Seychelles Communities in Exile across the world have been seeking the International community, it institutions support to help resolve our issues and situation - the issues of that Historic SIROP Program, on account of their minority and the Racist issues involved thy have been marginalized, oppressed, abused and manipulated. In Many instance supporting and going along with the very political party, government that cause/led to this situation. The highly double standard of the International community workings.
In setting up this Forum some 7/8 years ago also addressed the rights for those Seychellois of white/French decent to be compensation, then government of President F Mitterrand, later Jacques Chirac - the government of Tony Blair attitude.
Now the CARICOM Nations have banded together demanding/setting our a Ten Point plan for compensation and repatriation of children of those Salves back to Africa. Each country has set up its own reparations committee, with the chair of each attending the Caricom meetings.
The question what of the Former Slaves of the Indian Ocean and BIOT - Diego Garcia.
In Mauritius, the debate which have started for some form of Compensation for the former slaves and those affected.
