Chinese embassy is offering a batch of flags in Seychelles
The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Seychelles, His Excellency Ms. Guo Wei, presented a set of 60 thousand flags of Seychelles this Thursday morning to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, at State House.
This beautiful gesture of generosity from China comes in response to President Ramkalawan's wish to see national colors floating on every house, as an act of patriotism.
President Seychellois thanked the Chinese ambassador for the support coming, after so many others, especially during these difficult times marked by the COVID-19 pandemic when the Seychellois nation needs its unity.
The wish of the President of the Republic to have the national flag flying on every house is in perfect harmony with this need.
Ms. Guo Wei has explained to the press that the world is experiencing difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that patriotism can unite all forces of the nation to build conviction and the motivation needed to cope with it and overcome the difficulties.
It is expected that each member of Parliament will have a set of flags to distribute to the people of his district.
It should be noted that Victoria Mayor David André and the Executive Director of the Mayor's Office, Mrs. Lydia Charlie, were also present at the ceremony.
