Beekeeping, a key source of food security!
Beekeeping, a key source of food security!

How many of us realise that most of the flowers on our fruit trees as well as of a large variety of vegetables are pollinated by honey bees? Or rather, fearful of their painful stings we consider them as a nuisance or health hazard and deliberately fear them away or even kill them. Finally, the few remaining ones are those living naturally in bushy areas not easily accessible to man or kept by a few beekeepers for the sole purpose of honey production. But without realising it, they contribute greatly to food production.
