Well known dentist Dr José Souyave passes away
Well known dentist Dr José Souyave passes away
28-March-2016
Dr Jose Souyave, a well known dentist from Seychelles, has passed away.
Dr Souyave started the first private dental clinic in Seychelles known as Medent Dental Clinic located at Le Chantier, opposite National House.
He is the son of Seychelles’ former Chief Justice Sir Georges Souyave and Mona Souyave.
A close family friend who was the manager of his dental practice and worked with Dr Souyave from 1996 to 1999 described him as “very kind, ambitious and dedicated to his work and family”.
He said the dentist always wanted to do new things and he also introduced new things in Seychelles as well such as dental implants.
Born on March 20, 1954, he died two days before his birthday.
He is to be cremated in London and a memorial service will be held here at a later date to be announced by his family members.
Seychelles NATION’s attempts to get in contact with family members and past colleagues of the great dentist have been futile. We nevertheless would like to convey our deepest condolences to the Souyave family.

How does one measure the loss of a person/personality
Today's world society would have us believe they have an answer for everything - in this case how can/does one measure the loss of a personality/person. We have not been friendly/tolerant to very many - yet we posing this question.
We have been involved in the affairs of our Sechelles Seychelles Community in Europe since 1977 and our personal concern for our country goes back to before the past election - why we could not take part/stand for election.
Our community and nation had/hold Sir George Souyave and his family in great respect and to acquire respect you need to do thing/work in some form with the party in question.
Dr Dentist Jose Souyave in his suave ways helped/contributed a good deal to our exile/refugee community in Exile in Britain. Several personalities can demand that they equally be attributed this statement. As the Son of Sir Geroge Souyave one just do not come out in public and make statement and wave arms/fist - the subtle way of those with such family background and in the eye of the public act/works and do things. Both Father and Son combined contribution to events leading to the return of Multi party in Seychelles. Events which followed
in Seychelles, Australia, South Africa, Mauritius and Britain. ( The Leader of the Opposition Mr Gerard Hoareau was aware and knew of those issues and relied upon them for shouldering his respective responsibilities)
After the return of those exile/refugee families, third Republic and the constitution process, events in Britain/Europe how Sir George and his Family viewed our situation. He had been told stories by Judge E J Stiven of events in East Africa, Tanganyika and Zanzibar the fat of those who carried our changes and what ensued. ( Beside the need to state when our parents left us in Pension/Boarding with the relatives going to and back from school the manner his grandparents would view us and politeness towards our then young life) As children you one remembers such little moment in life. Later as a young adult between 13 to 21 years how Lady Souyave expressed her concern about/over our well being - the Judge EJ Stiven debacles - during my brief married life with my Mauritian wife and later our divorce and efforts to rebuild life. She was a bit/somewhat like Mrs Flavie Jackson.
With the demise/death of Sir George Souyave - things came to a drastic head. The gap and again referring to our young nation, exile/refugee workings and Diaspora. Somebody had to fill this gap in the best way he could. In other countries, history, books, society those/individuals that can led to role model and benchmark setting and standard, values and ethics. In this case our small nation, before and until the coup d'etat, in exile the first 15 years and even after the change of 1991 - Benchmark setting, Values and ethic that a nation can and will carry into future generations and history, or for that matter a group of people, ethnic group - their respective role in society and nation building. Our nation to date have not engaged adequately the process of returning the values of the founding fathers of Sechelles Seychelles our country, after the Communist era and extreme socialist/Marxist ideology implantation - the EU, the Vatican/Church, the West, Francophone and Commonwealth help in this process. Foremost is required individual commitment, individual who have know and embellished those values to make firm commitments to reintroduce them - again other nations particularly the Former COMECON experience - what this required and demanded.
Over the many years working, dealing and managing our many Community, ancestral workings and Nation issues be they Justice/Judiciary related, Institutions, world bodies or National Institutions we have learn to use and rely on those set of values and benchmark Sir George and his Family set as example. The UN, EU, the Vatican, British and European Monarch their respective archaic workings among them the thematic of Angers - Loire and all those involved in France and Europe. Not to exclude our Indian Ocean very complex thematic and their associated workings.
To arrive at this conclusion the requirement to look at our history past and present, those who judge they can be role model and set benchmark for our nation and society, personalities like President F A Rene, First President James Mancham and indeed many others. To work with such human relation what it requires, demand and call for.
From this prospective the duty of every nation to do a review, weigh, take time to ponder, search deep in themselves and their workings what the life of such individual means and have meant and to loose them /him/her and from that point - there rebuild, remodel and carry on with life respective challenges and whatever very terrible life will throw at one, society and the world/mankind will have to face and confront.
