EN IMAGES - Laissé à l’abandon pendant 30 ans par ses propriétaires saoudiens, ce château de Boulogne-Billancourt vient d’être racheté par un promoteur. Le bâtiment sera rénové et 5000 m² de logements seront créés sur sa parcelle.


La belle endormie devrait enfin sortir de son sommeil. Depuis 30 ans, ce château construit à Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine) en 1856 par le baron James de Rothschild et qui eut son heure de gloire, était laissé à l’abandon par ses propriétaires saoudiens. Livrée aux trafics, squats, tags et autres activités nocturnes, la fière bâtisse n’est plus que l’ombre d’elle-même. Pour les architectes qui ont inspecté les lieux, le château est en train de fondre comme du sucre. Pas étonnant que plusieurs tentatives de restauration des lieux aient été abandonnées tant la tâche semble ardue.
