Bigger Praslin jetty to provide better comfort for passengers

Praslin will in the near future get a new jetty which, in addition to accommodating more ferries at once, will also incorporate a very spacious main building aimed at providing clients with the ultimate travel experience.
Passengers will be able to have something to eat or enjoy better seating facilities while waiting for their ferry.
Charles Pool and Marc D’offay Associates will be responsible for designing and overseeing the
construction of the 50-metre long jetty on Eve Island Annex.
The company recently signed the consultancy agreement at the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA)
headquarters through which its representatives have agreed to the responsibility of completing the
project with the capacity to receive simultaneously four boats – the size of current ferries presently serving the Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
Earlier in April SPA officials carried out a visit on Eve Island, on the site where the modern jetty is to be constructed.
Charles Pool and Marc D’offay Associates’ firm will not only design the passenger terminal, but it will also seek the planning authority’s approval to ensure it is built to SPA’s specifications.
Work on the new passenger jetty, which will cost R3.18 million, is expected to be completed by July 2017.
