Victoria dressed up for Christmas
23-December-2016
On Christmas Eve almost all families must have already embellished their houses with a decorated Christmas tree – either a natural tree or a plastic-leave tree.
The tradition of decorating a Christmas tree is one of the most awaited occasions every year, and to make it even better, ornaments, lights, gifts are bought to adorn this tree with a hope to find Santa’s gifts waiting for us the next morning.
According to research, Martin Luther, a 16th century German preacher, was the first one to bring a Christmas tree inside the house.
Not only have our homes been decorated, our small capital Victoria is also dressed up for the occasion.
Commercial centres, buildings and trees have been decorated with fancy lightings. The dazzling displays of festival lights make the environment more bright and beautiful.
Christmas decorations are incomplete without Santa exchanging gifts with lovely children. Hopefully the huge one in the Peace Park in Victoria will come to life on Christmas day to bring gifts to the children.
Regardless of whether Christmas is a religious or more of a cultural celebration for you, no one can escape the magic of Christmas and it is something really special every single year again when everyone gather and spend a few peaceful days in the circle of their loved ones.
We bring you some photos of the decorations in Victoria taken by our photographer Louis Toussaint.
