Regional Maritime Service
This report makes the case for the setting up of a Regional Maritime Service which will act as
a vector of regional integration, adapted to the development needs of the region. It presents
facts and figures to support the Indian Ocean Commission’s (IOC) initiative for the setting up
of a viable and sustainable Regional Maritime Service. It is expected that this study helps to
get the Member States more involved and take a leadership role in the pursuit of the project.
