14 objectives to be implemented
At the end of last year, the cabinet endorsed the National Plan of Action on Ageing Population which covers a period of five years. This policy is founded on current and relevant articles of the Constitution and other pieces of legislation as well as the vision, goals and objectives of a number of policies and strategies which are directly or indirectly linked to the issue of ageing in Seychelles.

New criteria for receiving State funded retirement benefits

In its last sitting for 2018, cabinet approved the proposed reforms into how a Seychellois citizen qualifies for the state funded retirement benefit.
This benefit does not consider any form of previous employment. It is the baseline pension that each resident citizen receives upon reaching the legal retirement age currently set at 63 years old.

Pension Fund clarifies changes to its law

Changes to the Seychelles Pension Fund Act of 2005, approved by the National Assembly end of last year and assented to by President Danny Faure, have come into effect as of this month.
