Classical music concert tomorrow - 25.04.2013

A classical music concert will be held tomorrow at the UniSey (School of Education) auditorium at Mont Fleuri starting at 7pm.

Soprano Xiaoju Lownam, violinists Luigi Ghiani and Lu Shiting, and piano accompanist Zheng Zhongying will offer exquisite solo performances with the aim of promoting classical music in Seychelles as well as raising funds for the Seychelles National Choir.

The show is being organised by the Seychelles National Choir Committee in collaboration with the director general’s office of the culture department.
Tickets cost R100 and are available at the National Library and can be purchased from Xiaoju Lownam at the School of Music. She can also be contacted on telephone 4321333 ext.8172.

“By purchasing a ticket and attending the concert either privately with your family or as a business event, you will help Seychellois youth and students of the Conservatoire and give them a chance to be exposed to live classical performances and to aspire to master the skills themselves,” the show’s organisers have said.

The organisers are also urging businesses to take on sponsorship for this concert or any other events of the National Choir and affiliated shows during 2013 by buying additional tickets that will go out to students.

“For a relatively small budget your company can become the sole sponsor of the National Choir for the whole year,” say the organisers, adding that sponsors will be acknowledged at the end of the show and in the future on concerts tickets, any other related promotional publications and at the beginning or end of a show.

According to the organisers appreciating live classical music of high standard and being exposed to the works of classic composers such as Bach, Mozart, Paganini and Puccini is a unique and rare opportunity in Seychelles.
