HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) inaugurated on Monday May 27th, 2013 The Raffles Seychelles Resort and Residences on the northeast tip of Praslin Island, the second largest island in the Seychelles.

Moreover, the inauguration was attended by Mr. Simon Hirst, General Manager, Raffles Seychelles Resort and Residences and a delegation from KHC that included Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Amani Algahtani, Assistant Executive Manager to HRH Palace, Mr. Naief Alzuhair, Manager Website & Social Media, Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Manal Alshammary, Protocol Department Manager, Mr. Hani Agha, Senior Manager for Travel and External Affairs, Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman and the Resort and Residences executives and Mr. Mohammed Alfaraj, Assistant Manager, for Travel and External Affairs.

The Raffles Seychelles Resort and Residences is a 90- luxury villa resort hotel and 17 private residential villas. The cost of the Raffles Seychelles Resort and Residences is US$ 137 million and managed by Fairmont in which KHC owns a 38% stake.

In 2010, Prince Alwaleed visited the Republic of Seychelles. Prince Alwaleed was accompanied by a delegation from KHC and Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by HRH. Prince Alwaleed was warmly welcomed by the President and people of the Republic of Seychelles and met with His Excellency President James Michel. The President and the Prince discussed economic, social and humanitarian issues, in addition to Prince Alwaleed's investments in the country. Furthermore, the two discussed further investment opportunities in the hotel sector in Seychelles.

Also during the visit, Prince Alwaleed was awarded The Republic of the Seychelles Plaque the highest honor granted by the country in recognition of HRH's invaluable contribution to the socio-economic development of the country for the people of Seychelles.

Moreover, Kingdom Holding's other investments in the Seychelles is through the management of Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. The Resort has 62 tree house villas, five suites and 28 Private Residences. The Four Seasons in which Kingdom Holding holds a 47.5% stake and is co-owned by Bill Gates' Cascade in which the company holds a 47.5% stake, and 5% of the Four Seasons is owned by Isadore Sharp.

Prince Alwaleed opens $ 137 m Raffles Seychelles

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), opened the Raffles Seychelles Resort and Residences on the northeast tip of Praslin Island, the second largest island in the Seychelles, on Monday.

Connectivité aérienne : Iles Vanille opte pour Air Madagascar



Air Madagascar assurera désormais la desserte vers Guangzhou, pour le compte des îles Vanille.

Les représentants des six îles membres de l’association Iles Vanille ont choisi la compagnie malgache pour améliorer la connectivité aérienne. L’objectif est de faire venir plus de touristes chinois.

Améliorer la rentabilité. Le vol assuré par la compagnie aérienne nationale, Air Madagascar, sur la ligne Guangzhou sera exploité par l’association Îles Vanille. Il s’agit d’améliorer l’accès aérien entre les îles, mais aussi d’augmenter la rentabilité des avions qui assurent la desserte. Un moyen pour l’association de soutenir le redressement de la compagnie.

«L’accès entre les îles reste vraiment à améliorer. Il m’a fallu vingt-quatre heures pour venir des Seychelles à Madagascar. Nous semblons être si près, mais nous sommes aussi éloignés. Dans cette amélioration de la connectivité, les membres ont décidé de collaborer avec Air Madagascar, qui va étendre son réseau sur Guangzhou vers les îles, autres que Madagascar», a expliqué Alain Saint Ange, ministre du Tourisme des Seychelles, à la fois président de l’association.

«Air Madagascar traverse une période difficile, comme d’autres compagnies. Mais les Îles Vanille vont aider la compagnie à survivre. Il y a deux avions qui travaillent à peine car il n’y a pas assez de trajets.
Le taux de remplissage est faible alors qu’Air Madagascar est la seule à avoir cette ligne qui pourrait subir une extension. Nous arrivons en bloc pour faire bénéficier la société», a-t-il enchaîné. C’était jeudi, à l’issue de la réunion des six représentants des îles membres, qui s’est tenue à l’hôtel Colbert.

L’augmentation des arrivées de touristes chinois dans les différents pays membres, outre la connaissance mutuelle de chaque membre du bloc, constitue des retombées complémentaires attendues de cette décision. «Le transport aérien est une piste à considérer pour aboutir à l’épanouissement du tourisme de la région. C’est un moyen que nous devrons étudier en commun», confirme, pour sa part, le ministre du Tourisme, Jean Max Rakotomamonjy.

Des interventions seront faites pour l’obtention de droits d’atterrissage, notamment, à La Réunion et aux Seychelles, et pour l’assouplissement de l’octroi de visa pour les populations de la région. Des supports marketing seront fournis par l’association pour vendre les avions de la compagnie Air Madagascar. Des financements des actions de promotion seront cherchés en dehors du bloc.
