In the news last night the Speaker was asked what would happen if an MNA refuses to take the vaccine.
His repply was he would consult Dr Gedeon as to what can they do. While Dr Gedeon can use his authority to stop any gathering no one has the authority to prevent a sitting of the National Assembly. The National Assembly is supreme. The police is obliged to protect the national assembly and its members against any interference. Surprised with his answer. In fact MNAs should be tested for covid regularly as a matter of course so that they can fufil their responsibilities. Members of the National Assembly have privileges and immunities unlike Ministers.
