Seychelles President Restructures Government

Seychelles President James Michel has announced today the composition of his new Cabinet as well as the appointment of a number of Chief Executives in government ministries, departments and agencies, while other Heads and senior-most staff retain their position.

Four new ministers have been appointed by the President whilst two ministers have stepped down.

In the new structure of government, the President retains the portfolio for Defence, Legal Affairs, Information and Hydrocarbons.

Vice-President Danny Faure retains the portfolio for Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Youth and Public Administration. He has, in addition, been entrusted with the responsibility for Civil Society, including relations with religious denominations and organisations.

Together with the President and the Vice-President, the following Ministers constitute the Cabinet, subject to the approval of the National Assembly:

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Joël Morgan
Minister of Education, Macsuzy Mondon

President Michel urged all ministers to remain connected to the people and to ensure the highest levels of service delivery with probity, professionalism and humility. He reminded them that theirs is a position of trust, that they have a duty to “make things happen” and that they are at the service of the people of Seychelles. The President also said that it was expected of them to always display the highest standards of integrity and commitment to duty.

Mr. Pierre Laporte has stepped down as Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment.

President Michel, in his capacity as President of Parti Lepep, has appointed the outgoing Minister for Natural Resources and Industry, Mr. Peter Sinon, as Deputy Secretary General of Parti Lepep.

Thanking the two former ministers for their hard work and their many achievements at the service of the people of Seychelles, the President emphasised that Messrs Laporte and Sinon will continue to contribute towards the development of the country.

Four new ministers have been appointed by the President while two ministers have stepped down.

The new ministers are Charles Bastienne (Minister for Home Affairs), Didier Dogley (Minister for Environment, Energy & Climate Change), Michael Benstrong (Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship Development & Business Innovation) and Wallace Cosgrow (Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture).

The two outgoing ministers are Pierre Laporte and Peter Sinon. President Michel, in his capacity as President of Parti Lepep, has appointed Mr Sinon, as deputy secretary general of Parti Lepep.

Good morning Friends, how was it at the Clubs last night. May we address something - did not have a drop - Facebook do not allow quote - at least we do not know how to use it. Mr Gill first comment - Many may judge we have been winding everybody with our cabbage issues last night - having said we visited countless Churches in France, Austria and prayed other issues we do not even mention. We had tried to make Mr Pierre Laporte of these workings. Since the demolition of that Old Tourist Hotel School and the rebuilding of New one the many important contributions we have made using our heraldry/Heraldic disciplines - You had/landed in that mega earthquake and Tsunami of 2004/5 the 250,000 death and more, $150 billion in economic damage in the region. Seychelles got $30 millions compensation damages - we talk of our Illuminati like that frog singing - everybody choose to forget we have such discipline and mechanism. Using h same discipline we drove the building of the Qatar Hub development and other issues this is not just any manure - we helped the very Mr St Anges join the Tourist workings instead of lending a helping hand or hands as they do in Switzerland, France Germany right across Europe he set dogs on us and our workings - and we got very angry - short of praying heaven for another Earthquake and Tsunami. There are those in France who know very well this discipline - we know the statistic of the Tourism Industry - we are not in Africa - it is not right and proper that we use such important discipline, we drive Seychelles Tourist , Airline and vast many issues then when you lot do the reporting - what methods and manner you/is used to do this reporting - anywhere else this would have been sorted t very differently - respect our workings and discipline because it could get very worse. We helped that EY, all three big global accountants have representation in Seychelles to help this process and workings - what has been the results and outcome. By the way we gave you Mr Pierre Laporte. We brought Lehman to Seychelles and a very long list of others - we all need to go back to children time and learn to sing songs with the frogs. One or two may still be around across the Old Bel- Air historic Cemetery. May be that will help us. We are not permitted to be offensively Blunt in public.
