I am extremely concerned with the statement of the Ombudsman

I am extremely concerned with the statement of the Ombudsman,
Mrs Nichole Tirant-Ghérardi, in the news last night, that she fears the Office of Ombudsman, which is established by the Constitution to protect the citizens from abuse of their fundamental rights by the institutions of state could be abolished. No other institution established by any law can have such authority as the Ombudsman has, as the constitution is the supreme law. To abolish the Office of Ombudsman the National Assembly must vote by a two thirds majority of the members, which at this time one political party has. Any move to abolish the Office of Ombudsman would be tantamount to an assault on the Constitution.
