The actor's nephew says Wilder died late Sunday in Stamford, Connecticut from Alzheimer's disease complications
Wilder was 83 years old at the time of his death
He is perhaps best known for his role as Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Wilder is survived by his wife, Karen Boyer
