Changes to government establishment structure

President Danny Faure has announced changes in the establishment structure of certain government departments which will become effective on January 1, 2018.
The portfolio responsibility for Foreign Affairs will move from the President to the Vice-President, and the executive head of the department will be Ambassador Barry Faure, the secretary of state for Foreign Affairs.
The portfolio responsibility for Risk & Disaster Management will move from the Vice-President to the Designated Minister.
The portfolio responsibility for Investment will also move from the office of Vice-President to the office of the newly named Ministry of Investment, Industry & Entrepreneurship Development which will be headed by Minister Wallace Cosgrow.
The Department responsible for Education beyond Secondary Education level will henceforth be known as the Department of Tertiary Education & Human Resource Development.

New senior appointments in public sector organisations

President Danny Faure has announced senior appointments in certain public sector organisations which all take effect from today, March 1, 2018.
Flavien Joubert has been appointed as the new chief executive (CEO) of the Landscape & Waste Management Agency (LWMA). The deputy CEO for the LWMA is Walter Rahul Mangroo.
The President has appointed Helena Sims as the new chairperson of the Seychelles National Parks Authority and Selby Remie as its new CEO.
Evelina Antha has been appointed as the new CEO of the Property Management Corporation (PMC).
The President said that these changes are intended to foster greater efficiency and dynamism in these organisations, and are part of his drive to bring about greater transparency and accountability throughout the public sector.

Chrystold Chetty to chair SRC board

President Danny Faure has announced the appointment of the board of the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) and its chairperson is Chrystold Chetty.
The appointments follow amendments to the Seychelles Revenue Commission Act which now makes provision, for the first time, for the Revenue Commission to be administered by a board. This change is in accordance with new governance policies being applied across the public sector.
The board members have been appointed for a period of three years, effective from today, March 1, 2018.
The other board members are Patrick Payet, Cillia Mangroo, Charles Morin, Steve Jardine, Robert Grandcourt and Serge Durup.
