Just learnt about the passing away of Mr Brian Lebon in the UK..
So sorry cannot be in the UK for supporting our community..

Our Community Condolence to the Lebon Family, Friends, Acquaintances and Associates

Mr Brian Lebon last worked for British Telecom - in Seychelles Cable and Wireless and the USAF facilities. In 1988 Britain, the mighty British Telecom and other leading Telecommunication company in Britain did not have the Global connectivity. The attempt to get President F Mitterrand to put together a global connectivity using the Minitel for that SIROP program 1986/87  - instead CERN, in the first place the mighty altercation with Lady Thatcher government, officials over a European project or USA project. In the end Switzerland won through and CERN and the global connectivity importantly synergized by the dynamic and leveraging capacity of that SIROP program.

The cultural blend of the area was reflected in the clientele - on one occasion we counted 31 different nationalities in one area (32 if we included Yorkshire) - and the Queens became the focus of the Seychelles community in London. Their celebrations and curry parties are still remembered, and although many of the Seychellois have now scattered to all corners of the world, some, such as Brian Lebon, still remain to carry on the tradition.
