BREAKING NEWS: ACCS FILES MOTION TO WITHDRAW CHARGES AGAINST MRS VALABHJI, MRS NAIR & MR LOUSTAU-LALANNE
The ACCS this morning filed a motion to withdraw charges against Laura Valabhji, Lekha Nair and Maurice Loustau-Lalanne in the USD50 million case. ACCS clarified that the charges against Mrs Valabhji have been withdrawn pending further investigations. Mrs Valabhji however remains on remand in the seperate ammunitions and terrorism case brought by the Republic.
As for Mrs Nair and Mr Loustau-Lalanne, they no longer have to meet the bail conditions previously set and their passports are to be restored to them. Their charges were withdrawn based on agreements with the ACCS that they will give evidence for the prosecution in this case.
Meanwhile ACCS has filed amended charges against Mukesh Valabhji and Sarah Rene-- 10 counts against Mr Valabhji, four against Mrs Rene and one joint charge.

BREAKING NEWS: CHARGES AGAINST RAHJAN DROPPED
ACCS charges against Fahreen Rahjan have been withdrawn, following an agreement made between ACCS, Rahjan and her defence lawyers. She will be called in however, to give evidence in future proceedings against the Valabhjis. This is related to the purchase of USD 4 million worth of shares in a Singaporean company, Appollo Towers, using false documents.
