Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, Auschwitz Survivor and Former Polish Foreign Minister, Dies

WARSAW--Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, a Polish survivor of Auschwitz recognized for efforts to save Jews from the Holocaust as well as postwar reconciliation with Germany, died on Friday at the age of 93.

He had been a prominent figure in Poland’s politics since the collapse of communism, serving twice as the country’s foreign minister as well as a senator and ambassador to Austria. Most recently, he served as an international envoy of the Polish government.
