In the rallies during the election in 2020, it was stressed that the social security pension for the seniors should be made equivalent to the minimum wages in Seychelles. Elections are over and more than 27 months have passed and the authorities never touched this matter. It is disappointing to note that even in the National Assembly this issue was never raised by any of the members – both pro-government or opposition – as if this section of society is to be abandoned or neglected and does not need any attention.
