UNIDO set on further strengthening institutional links with BRICS countries, says Director General

MOSCOW, 7 July 2015 – LI Yong, the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), said today that the Organization had a solid ground for increasing its cooperation with the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) based on its mandate that focuses on promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development.  
He was speaking at the 5th meeting of BRICS Trade Ministers taking place in the Russian capital, ahead of the Seventh BRICS Summit due to take place in the city of Ufa in the Republic of Bashkortostan from 8 to 9  July. It was the first time that a Director General of UNIDO has been invited to address such a meeting.
“I firmly believe that UNIDO’s mandate of inclusive and sustainable industrial development has great relevance to the developmental aspirations of the BRICS, and stand ready to strengthen the institutional links between my Organization and the BRICS,” said Li.
“UNIDO gives great emphasis to enhancing its collaboration with the BRICS and has developed extensive technical cooperation programmes with each BRICS country individually. At the same time, tangible efforts have been made to elaborate a more purposeful and broader approach to engagement with the BRICS as a group, and to develop a diversified range of strategic cooperation activities with these countries.  I am determined to continue these efforts to enhance UNIDO’s future engagement on the BRICS cooperation platform.”

BRICS industry ministers meet in Moscow
… Also attending the meeting on Tuesday were industrial ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union and officials of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
The Russian Trade Minister during Tuesday’s meet also urged governments to eliminate trade barriers between the BRICS countries and the members of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union. …

Comment - We have listen to one of the Youtube presentation - we published in 2009 pictures of a litter of local breed piglet the mother/aw having died giving birth then 2009 world economic situation, that SIROP program call for a different direction of Russia economy within the context of that SIROP program - the impacting issues of that Program on India, South Africa Brazil, China - the pace of events and development - everybody ignoring the importance of that Program when it had been the driving force to get a BRICS concept - workings together.

What about the 13 attempts we made to meet up with President FA Rene - the agenda we had prepared to discuss with him, then Mr Christopher Savy in  Seychelles with us, given the limited time and the review of that SIROP program - his refusal to meet with us. We would have shared our view and concern for then Russia global economic workings.

May we add President J A Michel had not yet discovered the potential/uniqueness of the Blue Economy challenges
