The Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) has been inexistence from January 1, 2006 as a fully fledged pension fund and the pension provided is covered by a mandatory public scheme.

The pension plan is a defined benefit (DB) where the members pay-as-you-go which provides beneficiaries (contributors) with an adequate income stream during retirement.

The contribution rate is currently at 4% which is among the lowest in the world, of which 2% is contributed by employees and 2% is contributed by employer.

SPF kick-starts regional consultative meeting

The Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) is embarking on a series of regional consultative meetings across the country to meet and discuss with their members.

The meetings, which will last for two months, is part of the recommendations from the SPF symposium which was held on January 30, 2017.

The Seychelles National Youth Council (SNYC) in collaboration with the Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) hosted a special half-day workshop on Wednesday targeting young entrepreneurs and post-secondary students who aspire to start their own business in an effort to create more awareness about SPF.
