The Ministry of Health has provided updates on recent developments in the local health sector with emphasis on a series of improvements with regard to services offered to the public.
This was in a press conference at the Seychelles Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Minister for Health Jean-Paul Adam was joined by special advisor Dr Loren Reginald and deputy chief executive of the Healthcare Agency Cathleen Cecile to communicate the changes that will be implemented in the healthcare sector as well as new services to be introduced shortly in a bid to improve the quality of service.
Among the issues discussed was the operation of the dialysis unit at the Seychelles Hospital, renovations on different health centres across the country, new healthcare products and services as well as the future of the 10 Seychellois doctors who recently completed their studies.
With regard to the operation of the dialysis unit, Minister Adam explained that the ministry has decided to continue offering the services at the Seychelles Hospital as opposed to outsourcing such services to the private operator, Renasense Seychelles located at Espace building.
