Seychellois herbalist Ferdinand Vidot passes away

Seychellois herbalist Ferdinand Vidot passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Well known and widely consulted by many Seychellois young and old for his ability to cure certain ailments using the healing virtues of a variety of medicinal plants and herbs, Mr Vidot’s popularity has continued to increase over the years as his vast knowledge of plants like wild fire.

People from all corners of the islands as well as from abroad travelled to Val d’Andorre, a remote sub-district of Baie Lazare in the south west of Mahé to seek the advice of Mr Vidot for their ailments and took home the ever popular lafresisan or herbal tea either of dried leaves, roots or barks as well as ointments.

Mr Vidot was 85 years old and had just celebrated his birthday on November 11. He will be sadly missed
