Birds of the British Indian Ocean Territory, Chagos ...

This Saturday the Wien/Adventist Church, the very Sermon contents, the Adventist Church across Britain. Seychelles and Mauritius, France,  Europe and the USA, Africa. The One Ocean Summit in Brest and all the participating nations.

In Chagos /Peros Banhos  Islands history being made after years and very bitter battle, struggle and international Court cases.   The first Mauritius visit to the Island group unescorted by British officials or Military on the former Mine Sweeper reconverted. The fact and history the Historic Journey started from Seychelles Port Victoria, Eden Island Marina -the Austrian/south African Developers - where some 60 years ago they were  deported on the Nordvear, dumped,  forced  to live in exile. Why Vienna for us.  We had befriended the editor of Salzburg Nachriten 1977  and later the Kurrier and APF in Vienna 1978.  The Adventist Church in Salzburg we prayed with and explained our reason for being in Austria. Having started the first part of our Dental Techniker training with at one of Salzburg leading Dental Labor.  The Von Oswald Family at Attersea, the Pirate Arms in Seychelles were the first BIOT office was Mr John Todd and his Austrian wife.  The Austrian,  Swiss and Seychelles staff among them my ex wife.

"The expulsion of the Chagossians from the Chagos Archipelago was the forced expulsion of all the thousands of inhabitants of the island of Diego Garcia and the other islands of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) by the United Kingdom, at the request of the United States, beginning in 1968 and concluding on 27 April 1973 with the evacuation of Peros Banhos atoll.[1][2] The people, known at the time as the Ilois,[3] are today known as Chagos Islanders or Chagossians.[4]" extract Wikipedia -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_the_Chagossians#:~:text=The%20expulsion%20of%20the%20Chagossians,1968%20and%20concluding%20on%2027

From Point Larue the Mogador property ex Sir Clement Nageon QC, Kenya later acquired by Judge Stiven after the Zanzibar revolution and exiled in Seychelles, several leading families and expatriates from Zanzibar. The local Expatriate Community and Families. In Paris the Mogador in 1979,Grand Moulin de Paris,  the leading French families and French government and Military technicians/South Africans - the original Chateau in France South.  Today SPD Training Camp, those Chagos, Illois families who lived there, married also. . It was from, at Point Larue/Mogador that we learnt of the decision to formerly take these Islands for the BIOT, USAF Naval Base over Sunday Beer and Dinner, Lunch. Leading property owner like Mr Tino Nageon, Mr Raul Nageon, Mr Appassamy /ex Bailey view and Mr Chammery Chetty, Dr Toni Doffay/Jumeau and the Hoareau, Roullion  and Sovage Families, the then embryo of SPUP, along with those worker we employed who have worked on those Islanders views,, the SPUP, SDP  and Trade Union issues and argument Mr Nicolson Stravens arguments,  discussion, conversation. Mr /Mrs Bailey Estate, the Doffay/Jumeau, the Albert/Jumeau, later Judge Stiven  the Aux Cap Ex Hermitte Family, Captain  De Lafontaine employing most of the workers after they had return or done their contract, or worked at the Dock with then Mr Phillipe Mondon. Event and situation in then East Africa, Rhodesia. Judge Stiven knew Mr John Todd reasonably well his position and Judge Stiven Position in former Zanzibar. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Rawling_Todd

Much earlier our Grand Parents, great Aunt, great Uncle  estate the Didon/Edmond of Anse aux Pin and Capucin. Grew up with and among the Illois. As children  would sell then Toddy, bananas and Tabac.  Our Grandparents, Uncles and aunt knew them other generations back.  The relation ship which develop, respect - later at Point Larue and Aux Cap and Cora Strand Hotel made it a point o employ those we knew had known, families acquaintance.  They understood the issues of Judge Stiven exiles from Zanzibar and to date very little written in the press, yes those Illois having compassion . Inevitable moment those issues came up in their conversation, talk. There was a very important incident My parents ere in Est Africa an living in Pension on School holiday at Grandparents we were confronted by a large brown spider and lost our balance and fell down from a golden apple/mango tree some 20/30 feet to the ground and it was/were some of the Illois who made a temporary carrier,  the old fashion and carried me to the Bus stop and then on to Anse Royal Hospital - it was a Saturday.

Residing at St Louis with grandparents, Aunt and Uncles and very many extended families in Pension the Illois Community. They worked at the dock. My Grand father Chinese Mother side also worked at the Dock - the question Adventist issues, ex Family business failed.

Our  grand parents Father side had their view of who we ought to marry into and the Adventist St Louis side. A number of old school flames they say. We ended by falling in love with the sister in law of Pastor Caleb Bru, the other Brother in then Seychelles missionary.  The wedding was dome at Sunset Hotel By Mrs Mimi Lablach,  Sir James family help and Mrs Dorothy Wintergreen contributions. The friends and acquaintance, old flames and families  for and against - later trashing these issue with Salzburg leading University phycologist, then Seychelles society. Oh those who pressed us to join the Adventist Seminar. Those Illois, Judge Stiven Estate workers who had been against my marriage into the Adventist Family. Working at Coral Strand Beau Vallon property - Casuarina Hill Estate Development - Kingsgate. The Contract for the first Seychellois Deputy Manager of a large Hotel, events. By then the wife was expecting the second child. Had presented planing for the Montagne Hotel development and planning approved, then Tourist director and the finance,  Barclays and Standard charter. Travel to Mauritius, Espitalier Noel Family offer, Rogers and others as guidance  to manage and the hotel plan  by Hugh Polkinhorn /Jacques Moulinier cousin to the Moulinier owner of the company Island, Mr Marcel Moulinier as General Manager of Peros Bhanos - need help here / Had we finalized the financing a number of the Hotel workers, and gardeners would have had to be Illois. chagos. Another bit of history,  Judge Stiven decided to reclaim part of the marsh an build a proper motorable Bridge and the rails to carry out the work come from the Moulinier ex Island. Later the Comblage at the seafront and the development in planing by Architect jean Pierre Friedeli and M LaPorte. The Parkar Construction dumper and lorry.

With the financing failed some 10/15 Percent additional capital require those in Seychelles for and against,  for the Hotel development, then Pirate arms Hotel, Manager and staff. Had resigned at Coral strand and started a Custom clearance company,  Island Packaging and forwarding,  the storage where today LDS office,  ex Anse Royal Marine, Secretarial Service,  the Dickson and Kilindo. Mr Serge Pool support and a few others. In Mauritius those families who knew our then young family and person, issues. Upon the wife return to Seychelles with the baby today a mother and three children. We both working needed a foster mother and the recommendation a middle age Ilois from the Sengor family come forward and she played the role of foster and mother between my Mauritius  wife, our constant quarrelling over money and better life. To this day we a very much indebted and later the divorce by Mr Robert Frichot/Mr McGreogor and Valabjhi,  very bitter and ugly. The worker may have had to get involved. After the divorce the Moulinier Family helping her and the Michel apartment and then Mr Antoine Lau Tee, other acquaintances - Sir James  Mancham lady friends and his own brothers then concern,  anger at the way things have turned out.

The first Constitution meeting had taken place and the Second,  the uncertainty of Independence or some kind of associate status with Britain, the mess of Zanzibar and Jamaica -by the way talking with several  leading individuals  we were aware of events, Mr Gilbert Morgan, Mr Mascaranes, Mr Peter Gill, Mr Puren, the Jumeau family,  the Pillay family, Mr Philibert Loiseau, the Pool Family and those from the SDP and SPUP.  Judge Stiven had let it be know we were not to get involved in Politic his responsibility,  my own cousin involved.  We had very serious responsibility for Judge Stiven estate and family financial investments, his own family and Colonial Service colleagues and superiors, former Zanzibar exile families. Having listened and talked to the local British business people then, the politics,  advised  him that it would be in his best interests travel to  England find a property where he could stay,  after Independence, things turned out,  later return to Seychelles. The Estate workers and house hold  made of Illois and other local families. They knew and were aware informed of what was going on.  Would discuss with them if necessary.

I decided to undertake the sale of the Mogador property then Mr Toby Murrey and others,  the ex Bailey property sale debacles and the why.  To the Jivan family. The bulk of the money had been earmarked for the missing capital for the Hotel development at Montagne Posee. Then merchants families of Seychelles and expatriate community. Shortly after the Independence celebration the debacles of Judge Stiven decision to return,  those who had caused big, serious  mischief because my ex Austrian lady friend and son had arrive in Seychelles and staying at the Aux Cap Judge Stiven residence. Among the important reason she had many year experience in Hotel management and educated in Austria lading hotel management school. Several leading police officer were /got involved and lawyer Valabjhi issues,  he had prepared the power of Attorney High government office involved , unconfirmed the President Office. Given the positive relation we had with our Estate workers and the Anse aux Pins,  in the village was reasonably certain we could have survived a coup d'etat the the SPUP connections. With Judge Stiven return and the Guy Pool debacle and F Rene debacle court case, what were were not supposed to know  this would be very impossible and decided to go in exile instead and the reaction of the Estate workers and their future and fate, plans after Independence past crises.  Mr Maxime Larue Family.

In exile we found our self becoming embroil with the Issue of BIOT from Salzburg and family dispute. From Vienna the very serious development, the research by UNIDO for a reginal solution include the BIOT, the British,  US and Soviet and other interests, then South Africa, Israel, OAU both camps Austrian government and Intelligence knowledge, the None Aligned Movements.  The failed attempted coups and we seeking exile in 1981 London.  The disparities,  lies all those very scared to speak out  about our exile politic connection with the Chagos, the BIOT debacles, consequences- what we have written and the very person of Sir James and President FA Rene. Those from the SNM/MPR who did not understand our links and interests. Including past Ministers.  Staying at Kilburn  then Media Vale and then BRC,  the local group set up  to promote and lobby the BIOT chagos issues, the Irish local politic and Ireland linked,  then unknown to the larger Seychelles  community.  Around that time the unwritten proposal to lady Thatcher that they set up an international Refugees centre on one of the island under the UN auspices/Flag Budget of £150/200 millions.  With the Assassination of the MPR/Leader in 1985 writing that SIROP program concept as against a military intervention change,  to include the Illois, the chagosian, the strategics of  the Military base and regional impacting thematic, market, economy and societies most important the then Soviet position in the Indian ocean. When that SIROP program is implemented the impact of the US military management , policy and Budget concern, President Reagan personal and many officials involvements, support and the many very important USA, British, Military and politic,  the OAU, Commonwealth issues we have work had to work in the process  yet never publish.  Those exiles returning in 1992,  events and the politic of the Ilois under the one party system and after the change. The stark   difference between their fate in Mauritius and Seychelles as promoted by the two governments and politicians. We have visited the lawyer of the Ilois and discussed that SIROP program and the intended court case. It is utterly despicable the way the TRNUC have manage the process - what will be written as facts and whole truth, going by the developing dialogue for NATO war with the Russian, the terrible media. . The saga of that SIROP program and the ongoing development of the BIOT/Ilois is very dynamic and a great deal yet to be played out. The horror of the LDS government politic/position.

We had wish the various British PM would have taken a leaf from that SIROP program and put something serious in place for the Chagossain/llois -  PM Blair issues, the arguments against and development. At African,  UN level,  the Arab nations -  we aware the co relation between the SIROP program and the Illois aspiration.  In part the percentage of abuses,   nastiness, ugliness associated with the ransacking of 4 times, incidents  in Britain of our place of stay. Mortlake, Kilburn,  Caple le fern and Hermitage house - Islington. What we have address the ICJ, the ICC,  the European court. The many instance over the past 30 year the Mauritius government and media have benefited and been inspired or synergized by that SIROP ongoing working debate and addressing that Illois /Chagos issues. Yet the media reporting and writing.

In this morning BBC report the large that come to greet then before  sighting land - In Tirol  December 1976 those who had gifted us the book  titled Jonathan the seagull,  the marked contrast between a seagull and a fregate or albatross.

Let us decide our own destiny! We have the right to live on our land like everyone.
Thank you Mr Rosindell for realising that. Now, tell your fellow members at the parliament to right the wrong doings and let the Chagossian decide of their own destiny.
